I remember the days very well; days of depression, days of despair, and days of self-hatred. I would look into the mirror and feel ashamed of what I saw. I was gripped by the chains of anorexia/bulimia. I felt that I was not good enough. The chains were overwhelming. I cut myself to try to ease the pain and I even attempted to take my own life. I was bound by fear. The treatment center didn’t help. I felt there was no hope left for me to be happy and healthy. Until one day I felt the presence of God surround me and I cried out to Him. I completely surrendered to Him, my chains were broken and I could see the light!
I stand today, happy and healthy, with a loving husband and a baby boy only because of God’s grace! Together, as a family, we now serve Him and stand strong on His word. I believe in miracles because I am one!
Throughout the struggle I was fighting, I’m so thankful for the love and support of my family praying every day and trying to help me the best they could. I’m also so thankful for an amazing youth pastor that was always there for me whenever I needed to talk and to help remind me of God’s healing power.
